I work to ignite the internal fire of the brand, to excavate what is essential and elemental. From here we can work with the deep visceral intentions to bring forward a 'pulse' and make the mission alive. My strength as an artist is utilizing the emotional response, and conduct visuals/ experiences through the nervous system so we can connect and communicate on a universal instinctual level.

 

HOW I THINK AND FEEL ABOUT BRANDS

In a contemporary world we can use imagery in a similar way to the way primitive artforms have been used over the centuries. Visual images are powerful and inclusive, they can override language barriers and cut across all kinds of cultural divisions. 

I look at ways in which we can translate the deep essence of a brand and communicate it  to anyone. Today it's more about the human experience, how we live physically and mentally, and how we find a way of telling our individual stories. 

In helping clients build their brands my strength is my sensitivity to potent imagery and my ability to listen, read and process what I am presented with. What works for one client is not necessarily what is going to suit another - there isn't a formula or a singular solution. I deliver an empathetic response and work on achieving the outcome that works for you. 

I believe brands are elevated by having a strong, consistent and authentic visual identity - one that naturally and organically attracts your audience without having to scream for attention.

Together we go through an unravelling process to reveal the values and ambitions of your brand. From there we expand and conceptualize the opportunities, looking at a wide range of potential inspirations. We then focus in on a strong core idea and see how we can articulate your story in an impactful and relevant way.  Defining and establishing a strong, elevated brand presence will help to build confidence in your brand and increase recognition, ultimately leading to a deep rapport with your audiences. Reveal the values and ambitions that will define your brand; identify your audiences and how you might reach them; investigate the true meaning that can form the foundation for your brand.

Look at potential areas of inspiration - image, language, mood and presentation; develop concepts for how your brand could look and feel based themes that resonate with you and your audiences.

Focus in on a strong core idea that is distinctive, one that can drive everything the brand does and will become the basis for your brand identity.

PHASE 4  Articulate

Create content and imagery that expresses your brand identity; review how you can reach out and deploy this across different communications and media.

Creativity is an integral tidal flow - I question how we define real and unreal, use natural rhythms present in nature, and work from the 'ancient future' philosophy of exploring the tension between binary oppositions. The space we inhabit as humans that is a constant fluctuation between of deep rooted Intuition, the cerebral, and the projected imaginary space.  In contrast to 'oversharing' I believe it is possible to stand out through the power of innate mystique - to create intrigue and hold fascination.
