No. ('nō) is the ceramic art and design house of Romy Northover. Specialising in custom made ceramics with an 'ancient future' style.
An English ceramicist and designer, Romy works with interior and landscape designers, architects, private clients and sells through select retailers. Currently, No. has distributors internationally in US, Europe, Australia and Japan.
Romy holds a BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths, University of London, and has spent time living and working in Hong Kong, Venice and Berlin before opening her first studio at Togei Kyoshitsu in Manhattan in 2012. Trained in European ceramics, she has experimented with traditional Japanese techniques, more recently working in Rokuro, Kinuneri, Tebineri, and Kintsugi the exquisite art of mending broken ceramics with lacquer and gold powder.
No. is open to collaboration and supports the ceramic work with consultation, curation, installation and the use of other materials. The studio is currently located in Redhook, Brooklyn, New York.
