I unloaded a kiln yesterday with some samples for new work. Below are the "MAGNOLIA HI' pots, with a pinkish brush stroke. These are part of a spring series and happened becuase of the magnificent magnolia trees I see from my garden~
I am also experimenting with some blue glazes for summer. Below are some swimming pool plates. I used oribe to get this very glassy surface. The textured colours underneath give a sense of movement or interruption in the water like a dive or so.... Kind of reminds me of David Hockney's 'A Bigger Splash' (below). California style!
I have a longstanding love of swimming pools!
